Before you can configure a WAMP Server on your Windows computer, you will first need to download and install the WAMP Server software onto your Windows computer. Most of the time, this WAMP server software will be available as a part of your Windows operating system. You may also have to download the Windows Services and Programs to allow the software to function properly. The installation procedure is usually very straightforward and easy, and the downloading process should take no more than a few minutes.
As soon as the Windows Service Hosting or Windows Server Download is complete, you will have the software tools you need to connect to the WAMP Server to configure it. When you begin connecting to the WAMP Server, you will need to set the port that will be used for communication with the WAMP Server. Usually, all you have to do is enter the IP address of the computer that will be hosting the WAMP Server, but if the computer has changed in any way, you will have to enter the new IP address manually, as well. All you need to do next is to select the OS that will be running the WAMP Server, and then, choose the WAMP connection type and other options.
After you have finished configuring the WAMP Server, it will immediately start uploading all of its configuration files to the Web-based server, starting from where you started at the beginning of the tutorial. Once it is done uploading, all you have to do is to wait for the file to be downloaded and install on your Windows computer. As a user, you have the power to edit the WAMP Server configuration file and modify the settings that you want to be included in the WAMP Server. However, you will need to be careful as all these changes will only be saved in the registry, which is one of the most delicate parts of your computer. If your modifications are incorrect, your computer could crash.
